On March 26th, the Hammerstein Ballroom will become home to the first ever Comedy Awards, adding another milestone to its already vibrant historical tradition. This historic space is world-renowned for its impeccable acoustics and vital role in New York's cultural heritage.
In addition to the launch of "The Comedy Awards," MTV Networks and COMEDY CENTRAL have initiated the previously announced The American Comedy Fund, a partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to establish the first-ever charitable fund dedicated exclusively to supporting the comedy community in times of need.
Comedy Central and MTV Networks are proud to announce "The Comedy Awards," the awards show dedicated to honoring and celebrating the world of comedy. This monumental event will be hosted in New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday March 26th, after which the star-studded broadcast will be transmitted April 10, 2011 on Comedy Central, Spike TV, TV Land, VH1 and Nick At Nite simultaneously.
